I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist and specialize in work with individual adults. My approach to psychotherapy is informed by psychodynamic, relational, attachment, experiential and somatic models of psychotherapy.  I have worked in the field of mental health for over 25 years, as a psychotherapist for 16.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology.  I have received post-master's training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi Body-Oriented Psychotherapy, Psychophysical Psychotherapy, and EMDR. I work with clients to address a variety of concerns and difficulties, with particular interest and experience in the following areas:

  • Healing from major traumatic experiences (including abuse, neglect, early sexual experiences, automobile accidents, combat, violent crime), as well as more minor distressing experiences that have had lasting effects
  • Regulation of the autonomic nervous system (reducing hyperarousal and hypoarousal)
  • Understanding and modifying relationship patterns
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Deciding if, when, and how to leave a relationship
  • Coping with the loss of a relationship
  • Developing awareness of present moment experience (mindfulness)
  • Compulsive eating & body image
